    Richard
Thank you so much for coming to Texas this past weekend. Your comments and insight were so good and I found them to be very useful for me. I have been reading your commentaries and find them extremely informative. I would like to receive your future material and would like to know if you take any new clients or have suggestions. My prayer is that something positive can come out of the group for the saving of our country. I hope our paths cross again in the near future.

Thanks for your Amazon review of Jeffrey Sachs’ “Price of Civilization.” As I don’t buy from Amazon.com, I cannot post my reply to you on the Amazon website.

I’ve read the first chapter of Sachs’ book by now; he defines the root cause of the crisis in the opening paragraph: “a moral crisis” in the political and economic elite. Corroborating his view, Morgenson & Rosner argue that the financial catastrophe was intentionally caused by the same elites [1]. These would be the people that foment foreign wars in which millions of lives are destroyed [2].

In your review, you express the belief that they (“the rich and powerful”) should “lead” the society.

You also say the politicians will never implement Sachs’ concepts until a new crisis appears, as if a crisis would be a crucial sobering factor. You follow that up with the observation that they already wasted the 2008 crisis.

Sachs brings a badly needed sense in the public debate. His book prescribes how the country could get on the path of sustainable development, but only if the immorality among its elites… vanished away.

    Happy to contact you,

    IK
